Made from heavy-duty ABS plastic, these skimmers feature a one-piece constructed body with a sturdy external ribbing for superior strength. Similar to a pool skimmer, water is pulled from only the top 1/4" - 3/4" of the pond. They are built into the wall of the pond so as to be as unobtrusive as possible. Instead of the normal door wier found in most skimmers on the market, these skimmers feature a circular floating wier inside the body of the skimmer. This feature makes it much safer for curious fish that swim into the skimmer to get back to the pond. This is in contrast to the tradition door wiered skimmer, which can trap a fish and cause it to drown.
Available in two models: For gunite ponds in black with 2 inch plumbing and for liner ponds in black with 1 1/2 inch plumbing. (Basket is included.) Please note that skimmers are made out of ABS. When cementing ABS to PVC, use specialty cement.

The No-Niche Skimmer works in the same way a in-the-wall skimmer does but actually sits in the body of the pond. This is a great way to add a skimmer to a already existing pond. It consists of a cylinder body with a circular floating wier in the center of it. Also included is a basket that sits right below the wier.

Bottom Drains are suction points placed at the lowest place(s) in the pond. With the proper contour to the ponds bottom, these bottom drains will serve to remove all the waste and debris that collects on the floor of the pond. Bottom drains normally tied together with the skimmer via a three-way valve or Collector Box which is then connected to the inlet side of the pump.
2 inch Drains are primarily used in waterfalls as a way to easily drain water out of them during cleaning. 3 inch Tetra Drains are designed for use with a "pressurized" suction line where as the 4 inch drains are use only on a "gravity feed" system. All three drains are available for both liner and concrete ponds. For those that have a existing pond with no bottom drain installed, the Retro-drain may be what you are looking for. It sits on the floor of the pond with the pipe running along the contour of the ponds bottom. The pipe is then brought up the walls and out of the pond where it ties into the suction line just like the previous bottom drains. It comes with adapters to fit it to 1 1/2", 2", 3" and 4" pipe.
(Note that 3 inch Tetra drains, 4 inch drains and 2 inch drains are made out of PVC where as Retro-drains are made of ABS. If cementing ABS to PVC, use specialty cement.) |

Jets are an extremely important part of a successful pond. For this reason the two jets used in Advantage Systems are the Mazzei type and the Eductor type.
The Eductor type jet works like a venturi except instead of injecting air into the water it simple adds more water to the water traveling through it. For every one gallon of water pumped through the Eductor, it gathers four more from the pond thus moving a total of five gallons. The Eductor is the most efficient jet we have tested by far.
Koi like to swim into the current created by the jets so the end of each Eductor is rubber coated to prevent the koi from being injured.
The Mazzei type jet is the second most efficient jet we have tested.
It produces approximately 80% of the flow the Eductor does but is much smaller in size.
For this reason, the two smaller pond systems we offer (1,500 and 3,000) come standard with the Mazzei type jets, while the three larger systems (6,000,10,000 and 15,000) require the Eductor Type.
